Why This Site Exists

The case for optimism, and a catalog to build it on.

Every generation gets a technology that redraws the boundary of what people can do. Ours is intelligence itself — the ability to manufacture understanding, and to point it at every problem that has outlasted us.

This site is a working map for that project. It follows six connected areas: foundations and pathways, frontier models, agents and self-improvement, automated AI R&D, AI for science, and the evaluations, control methods, and governance needed to steer the whole loop. A technical or governance lens remains attached to each entry, but the areas make the actual research terrain easier to navigate.

The map is meant to serve two depths of inquiry. Someone who is curious should be able to understand the plausible routes from today’s systems toward superintelligence. Someone ready to contribute should be able to move from that orientation into primary sources, public code, adjacent work, and a credible next problem. That is the site’s only success metric.

Everything here is catalogued. Essays and papers carry an ID (this one is ASI-2026-001), so anything can be cited, referenced, and found again as the library grows.

The catalog will keep changing as the evidence changes. The purpose will not.
